F-Gas Certification Required

Refrigerant gases like R449A and R452A are fluorinated gases (F-gases). By law, we can only supply them to customers who hold the right F-gas certification.

We cannot send refrigerant without valid certification. Once you send your quote request, we will guide you through the next steps. We check every order before it leaves our warehouse.

Why we ask

In Great Britain, it is against the law to sell or buy F-gas for installing, servicing, maintaining or repairing equipment unless the buyer holds the correct certificates. This covers stationary refrigeration, air conditioning and heat pumps, fire protection systems, and refrigeration units on trucks and trailers.

As a supplier, we must check your certification and keep a record of your certificate number and the quantity you buy for at least 5 years.

Your company certificate from an approved body, such as REFCOM. It must be valid and show your company name and certificate number.

A copy of the F-gas qualification card for the engineer who will handle the gas.

Letter of assurance

If you are buying for a purpose that does not need certification, send a signed letter of assurance instead.

We do not accept personal qualifications on their own. The company certificate must be in the name of the buying company.

Where to find your certificate number

Your number is printed on your F-gas certificate. Have it ready so we can check it quickly.

Questions

Where do I find my certificate number?

It is printed on your F-gas certificate. See the examples above. You can also check it on your certification body’s online register.

Can someone else take delivery for me?

Yes. A driver or colleague without qualifications can take delivery, as long as the order is placed by a certified company.

What if my documents are not valid?

We will contact you. We cannot send the gas until we receive valid documents.

Do I need to provide documents with every order?

Yes. We check your certification for every order. We will guide you each time.
